Convicted terrorist gets to work on London tube system; Mayor Ken Livingstone says 'no big deal'

London mayor Ken Livingstone (nicknamed 'Red Ken') thinks it is 'no big deal' that a convicted terrorist worked on the London tube system, got security clearance, and worked on tube lines that ran under the Parliament. Hardy har har, no big deal. 7/7 is 'no big deal.' How does this guy get to be mayor again?
Ken Livingstone today defended the right of Abu Hamza’s son to work for a Tube contractor - despite his conviction for terrorism in Yemen. Mohammed Kamel Mostafa, 25, from Wembley, was given a security pass and had access to restricted areas - including tunnels under Parliament - during his time as a labourer at nights and weekends on the Underground. But the Mayor said he doubted the veracity of any conviction from Yemen and said Mostafa had passed Tube security checks. He said it was wrong to restrict his ability to work simply because he was the son of Abu Hamza. Mr Livingstone said: “Has he broken any laws here in Britain? The answer is no. We are happy to have him working for us. “No one can be blamed for what their parents do. All we ask is that they respect the law of the land and do not hurt anyone.”
Hat tip - Little Green Footballs - Link to the Daily Mail Article Um, Kenny boy, in this case, Mostafa was convicted himself in Yemen. This is not even mentioning his connection with an extremist hate mosque that incited murder. It's all okay - let's give him a job working for the London Underground! And while we are at it, let's dance in the forrest with the Jolly Green Giant! Sounds like a great plan to me!

So, the employee himself was a convicted terrorist, or just his father? If it was the employee himself, and he passed the security clearances then perhaps the security clearances need some revision? If it was the father only, I would say that this should not be necessarily held against the employee.

I am not surprised about this at all. With a mayor like Red Ken, I have a new appreciation for the New Orleans mayors, though Nagin just said one dumb thing.

I have also read that Ken Livingstone is admired by David Duke, who also admires Galloway. Talk about an unholy trinity there.

Parlancheq,

The employee was a convicted terrorist, and his father was ALSO a convicted terrorist. BOTH were! Double the trouble! :-p

Thomas,

Red Ken makes Mayor Nagin look like a Rhodes Scholar.

Red Ken it seems jumped the gun, before knowing the full facts about the man.
Though that is Red Ken all over, jump in shouting without knowing all the facts.
The man in question has lost his job and Livingstone wants a full inquiry to find out why somebody with terrorists convictions got a job on the tube in the first place. He said anyone with a terror convinction from any part of the world should be banned from working on the tube.
Though that is Red Ken all over, shoot mouth off and then try and recover from his self inflicted embrassment.

James Whale is going to run in the next london Mayor election. Should make it a bit more intresting.
I don't know how londoners percive Red Ken, but is he likely to be booted out of office, steven at the next election ?
I've had enough of the Hamza's to last me a life time. I think he was on the James Whale late night radio show a few years back, ranting about creating an Islamic state in the UK.

Though i saw a very intresting dispatches programme about the women only jihad. Which is basically about getting the mosques to allow women in to pray alongside men. The men don't really appear to want to let that to happen. It is there escape from the modern world. If the women can change the balance of power then it might help tackle home grown terrorism.

Heya Kevin,

I am not sure to be honest - I would have thought any sane person would not have voted for him last time.

"I've had enough of the Hamza's to last me a life time. I think he was on the James Whale late night radio show a few years back, ranting about creating an Islamic state in the UK."

I despise this man. How dare they pay for his living with my tax money; how dare they pay for a new hook? When it comes to Hamza I wouln't mind going back to the old ages and locking him in the Tower of London! (His son can go there too.) Alternatively, chaining him to the side of the Thames and waiting for the tide to come in has its merits.

I shouldn't speak like that, but Hamza is especially vile.

"If the women can change the balance of power then it might help tackle home grown terrorism."

I hope so. I think our best hope is with the women too.
