Anti-Zionism

Zionism is a movement which started when the Jewish people were expelled from Israel thousands of years ago[+]. Modern Zionism holds the political ideal that the Jewish people have a right to return to Israel in a secure land of their own. Zionists span religions and races and zionism does not specify that any race is inferior to any other. The declaration that Zionism is Racism was indeed passed in the United Nations. This should be another warning to everyone who has faith in the UN. [+] Jewish people were expelled from Israel by the Romans because Judaism conflicted with Roman culture and threatened the Roman empire. Learn more. ***** Anti-Zionism is racism.
"Anti-Zionism earns its racist character from denying the Jewish people what it grants to other collectives (e.g. Spanish, Palestinians), namely, the right to nationhood and self-determination. Are Jews a nation? A collective is entitled to nationhood when its members identify with a common history and wish to share a common destiny. Palestinians have earned nationhood status by virtue of thinking like a nation, not by residing where their ancestors did (many of them are only three or four generations in Palestine). Jews, likewise, are bonded by nationhood (i.e., common history and destiny) more than they are bonded by religion. The appeal to Jewish nationhood is necessary when we consider Israel’s insistence on remaining a “Jewish state.” By “Jewish state” Israelis mean, of course, “national Jewish state,” not “religious Jewish state” — theocratic states (like Pakistan and Iran) are incompatible with modern standards of democracy and pluralism. Anti-Zionist racists use this anti-theocracy argument repeatedly to delegitimize Israel, and I have found our students unable to defend their position with conventional ideology that views Jewishness as a religion. Jewishness is more than just a religion. It is an intricate and intertwined mixture of ancestry, religion, history, country, culture, tradition, attitude, nationhood and ethnicity, and we need not apologize for not fitting neatly into the standard molds of textbook taxonomies — we did not choose our turbulent history. As a form of racism, anti-Zionism is worse than anti-Semitism. It targets the most vulnerable part of the Jewish people, namely, the people of Israel, who rely on the sovereignty of their state for physical safety, national identity and personal dignity. To put it more bluntly, anti-Zionism condemns 5 million human beings, mostly refugees or children of refugees, to eternal statelessness, traumatized by historical images of persecution and genocide."

could you elaborate more on what zionism is ? What did zionsm call for ? And what land is that that the zionism will use to build a state on ?? Zionism is not religious, but what is Israel today ??

Before starting to attacking others and polishing the picture of zionism you can give a better introduction about it.

Tell us more about it so we can better understand it , ok?
Dont link, write here

Heya Osaid, please read my first paragraph:

"Zionism is a movement which started when the Jewish people were expelled from Israel thousands of years ago[+]. What questions do you have Osaid, I will gladly answer them. :)

I think anti-zionism is really anti-semitism or anti-Judiasm. Since it is no longer "allowed" to be anti-jewish in the post-christian western world, anti-zionism is used as a surrogate.

If you were anti-Nationalism and wanted all borders to be removed and all nations merged into one global state - well that is your choice.

If you are only against Zionism, the Jewish movement for self-determination - it is simply because Zionism is about a Jewish country and therefore such a stance would be racist.

Example:
People such as Cutter on your blog says the idea of a Jewish country is wrong, but she doesnt even give a passing mention to 56 Muslim countries. This reveals that she is anti-Semetic - and remember, she is also Jewish.

Do you have any specific questions about Zionism?

I too am rather non-enamored with the U.N. Not because of this one specific incident, but because of lots of things. Personally, if I were in charge of it, it would be a LOT more exclusive.

I also dislike that many on the left spew antisemitic rhetoric under the cover of "anti zionism" and never get called on it.

:) We call on it Kittynboi.

Please do not confuse anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism. People who dislike Zionists do not dislike Jews in general.

Anti-Zionism may well be branded by some as being racist, but just in the same way some may have thought that being anti-Nazi was racist.

In order for there to be peace in the land of Israel and it's surroundings the Zionist regime that governs it requires to be removed.

You do realize that zionists only believe in a Jewish homeland. They also do not believe in expelling Arabs in order to accomplish this homeland - just look at the large numbers of Israeli Arabs within Israel!

Given that, I fail to see how anti-zionism is not hatred under another name.

I'm afraid the root cause for the troubles today is the Zionist regime. It continues to spew up hatred upon itself. As long as it carries on behaving this way the hatred will continue to expand at a remarkable rate.

It's more a matter of time before this sucks in the whole world nearly.

The world must know that the Zionists have illegitimately seized the name Israel and have no right to speak in the name of the Jewish people.

Please explain how the "root cause" for troubles today is the zionist regime. That flat out doesn't make any sense.

The Zionists have NOT illegally seized any land.

Check out the parts about the history. You will see there was no "land stealing" by Zionists.

Zionists have conciously built up Israel's reputation of being the mad-dog of the world. Their actions are violent. Usually ten times more than the violence that befalls them. Their violence continues to breed more violence.

Their inhumane actions throughout history, upto and including the present, bring about comparisons of Zionism with Nazism and Apartheid. Their violent actions associate them with those terrible regimes of the past. Of course there is bound to be retaliation from those who have suffered and those who feel the plight of the people they have troubled.

Until the Zionists cease to act and react as violently as they always have, peace in the region is impossible. They must be surgically removed from governing Israel and rehabilitated to cure it's problem.

You are just spouting inanities. Can you actually point to specific facts that back up your broad assertions? Did you look to the website that I gave giving the history of Israel? Are you willing to actually examine facts? Because if you are not willing to examine facts, you are not wanted here.
