Culture not for all in New Orleans
The New York Times reviewed a new Spike Lee movie coming out, called When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. It's not pretty. New Orleans is still a disaster, and still is a shadow of what it was. From the looks of it, this movie will be a must see. The tragedy in New Orleans has already been swept under the rug, sadly. And yet people continue to suffer, and the real rebuilding has yet to begin. For more on the tragedy of Katrina from the perspective of personal friends of mine, I suggest reading the following link of Katrina stories. It's not seen in the mainstream media, but it's an honest telling of life on the ground for local residents.
