One of the MOST vomit-inducing interviews one has ever seen.

The interview I am about to show you is one between Jon Stewart and Pervez Musharraf, el presidente of Pakistan. Ironically, it is a Huffington Post article which rightly decries the particular horrors of this man's regime. The man is a dictator who has a low regard for human rights, women's rights, and is extremely corrupt. And yet he was praised up and down on the Daily Show. Moreover, he was praised as a better leader than Bush. Jon Stewart asked if Bush was 'sleeping' or 'watching TV' when he met with Musharraf. Stewart asked condescending questions about the idiocy of Bush. Stewart then praised him as a wonderful leader, shook his hand, and smiled. What a total and complete joke. Jon Stewart has jumped the shark. I feel dirty that I have seen him in person on several occasions and shook his hand. Just...no words. Go see the vomit-inducing bit of moral equivalence for yourself!

Seeing as how cordial Stewart had been with Madeleine Albright - a woman who, in the past, had said the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi children was a "price worth paying" whilst imposing sanctions on Iraq - his approach in this interview does not surprise me in the least. He still cracks me up, though.

Okay, I guess you have a point re: Madeline Albright. I didn't think about the remark she said.

Anyway, I think cordiality is misplaced here and was misplaced there as well.

Why was he on that show anyway?
Isn't he supposed to be busy dealing with the problems in his country?

Musharraf is touring the US, promoting a book he wrote. That's why he is in NYC. Oh well. I guess that his country's well being is not as important as his bottom dollar and the royalties he gets from his book!

I did not think it was that bad until the very end when they both compared Bush to Bin Laden and had a good laugh about it.

Disgusting.

You know something is wrong when John Stewart is praised as a genius while the works of Thomas Sowell sit on bookshelves collecting dust.

September is the most wonderful time of the year for third world despots who can come to the US on their country's dime to basically s*** all over our leadership and our values. I LOVE HAVING THE UN HERE.

Red,

Albright's comments were out of context. The death's of 500,000 Iraqi children fall fully at the feet of the former Iraqi dictator.

We do not change our actions based on the depraved response of the guilty. Would we stop prosecuting Capone because he started killing children in Chicago?

You know what? That's true - point taken!

Ibrahamav - if that were the case, even Albright failed to point it out. The best she could come up with? "I never should have made it, it was stupid." Perhaps you should take a job as her aide in the future and clear things up for her.
