Israel accepts Darfur refugees

Israel, the one JEWISH state in the world has now given refugee status to MUSLIM individuals who fled war-torn Darfur. You can read more of the details here. I find this all quite astonishing. I believe this is the first time Israel has granted refugee status to Muslims fleeing a nation that is an enemy state of Israel. It should be noted that the choices for the Darfur refugees is otherwise very grim; they are not welcomed by most Middle Eastern/African nations, and are fleeing across the Sudanese border illegally, and then treated like crap in these nations. My thought on this is one of pride in Israel, but concern that this will open the floodgates to the millions of Sudanese refugees who absolutely DO need a place to go...but should not choose the tiny nation of Israel (with all the problems Israel faces), as that place. In any case, it does become hard to call Israel an "apartheid state" when it does things such as this, huh? Somehow, I doubt anyone in the world will pay attention to this story or even care.

'Israeli apartheid' week comes to NYC

The useful idiots are out there again, with their "Israeli Apartheid" Week in NYC. I would attend one of those events, to videotape and document it all for you kind folks, except my time now is spent looking for apartments (as I already wrote). In any case, if any of you would like to attend of these events in order to document the antisemitism in NYC, here is the listing of events. The antisemitism of the far-left is there for the world to see...if you want to see it.

Take THAT, Jimmy Carter!

Jimmy Carter, in his abomination book, stated that Israel is an "apartheid state." Well, JPost revealed something rather momentous today: a Druze MK is now next in line to serve as president, after what happened with Moshe Katsav. Read the article, yourself! I think this should be forwarded to everyone who believes Israel is some sort of inherently evil 'apartheid state.' Let them know that not only are Arab Israelis full citizens of Israel, but they also hold important positions in the government. Cheers, Red Tulips UPDATE: It should be noted that Shimon Peres (opinion about him excluded in the name of sanity) is evidently the front runner to be the permanent replacement of Katsav. Also, Alan Dershowitz wrote a great column concerning his recent encounter with Jimmy Carter at Brandeis right here.

Glenn Beck and Alan Dershowitz discuss Carter's abomination book

Must read! I already posited why Carter wrote this abomination book on my law school Democrats list serv. I stated: "I am left with three horrifying options. 1) Carter simply does not know the facts (in which case he never should have been president!). 2) Carter knew the facts at one point, but since has gone senile. (possible, though unlikely given the fact that he has been touring the world for countless years, preaching against Israel) 3) Carter knows the truth, and is purposely spouting lies against the one Jewish nation in the world, in the attempt to spread an anti-Israel attitude amongst Democrats. This would make him an antisemite."

I believe option three is the most likely.

Carter exemplifies what Jeane Kirkpatrick (RIP, she died recently) characterized as the "blame America first crowd."

UPDATE: Dersh wrote a great column on HuffPo, noting that Carter actually claimed Israel's actions are worse than the Hutus in Rwanda! He explains how this sets back human rights in this excerpt:

There are real world consequences to Carter's - and the far left's - obsessive focus on Israel. What happens is that, when those entrusted with identifying and combating human rights violations around the world choose to focus largely or exclusively in on Israel, the real human rights violators, war criminals, and despots get away with murder. Indeed, the Rwandan genocide is a perfect example of what happens when the United Nations refuses to condemn any country but Israel, and the so-called international human rights organizations put so much of their energy and resources into a country with one tenth of one percent of the world's population (6 million Israelis out of the world's current population of 6 billion people) while ignoring the real and devastating atrocities happening elsewhere.

Carter's comparison can be explained in only two ways: extraordinary ignorance or a bigotry so deep-seated that it blinds one to reality. The burden is on him to explain.

Indeed it is.
