Ann Coulter at it again

With her razor sharp wit: COULTER: Oh, and I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards. But it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word "faggot," so I'm -- so I'm kind of at an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards. So I think I'll just conclude here and take your questions. Source: Media matters I get quite annoyed by people who make those kinds of offensive remarks about politicians. If you want to attack a politician you attack their public office record and performances. Using terms such as faggot to describe a politician is not that intelligent and only creates an atmosphere of negativity around politics in general. Which turns people off from taking part in the political process. I couldn't care less if a politician i voted for was gay. When i vote, i look at a politicians political ability and view points on issues that actually matter. Sexuality is a thorny issue for a lot of people. But at the end of the day we are all human beings who fall in love with other human beings, who might be of the same sex or of the opposite sex. It doesn't make us less human if we are Straight, Lesbian or Gay. It's just one piece of the puzzle that makes us human. Life is quite short when you think about it. I'd rather spend my time debating issues that matter. Like Climate change (whatever the outcome), to the fight against terrorism and tackling world poverty (both issues are linked to climate change in varying degrees). So Anne Coulter is an idiot, who makes money out of other like minded idiots. She adds nothing meaningful to the political debate, in fact she is far more of a threat to America than any liberal ever could be. I did have a point but i seem to have lost in the fog at this hour of the morning. However i bring you.... Anne Coulter vs Jeremy Paxman:

I don't know about Edwards's 'faggot' comment, but I will never like nor trust Edwards, after what he said about Israel being the biggest threat to mankind.

I met Ann Coulter in person and found her to be a very down to earth person.

She's 100% correct about Edwards, but it mystifies me why she wasted time talking about him. He's politically dead anyway and will never become president.

Steve,

I in no way back Ann Coulter, who goes over the top. But I just wanted to note that I am not a fan of Mr. Edwards in the slightest. Coulter was stupid in her criticism of Edwards, and in fact this deflects from Mr. Edwards's own bigotry towards Catholics and Jews. (the Israel comment)

Furthermore, while I am a big fan of gay people (my best friend is gay), I have to say that I am sick and tired of word censorship. Gay people use the word 'fag' and 'faggot' all the time, but it's considered evil when a non-gay person uses it. That's ludicrous. Words are just words, and word censorship, if anything, gives a word greater power, rather than lesser power.

That being said, again, I don't back what Coulter said at all. I just don't like the way she has been criticized for using a particular WORD, rather than a criticism of her VENOM (i.e., the MEANING) she directs towards gay people.

How did you misread that so badly?

Coulter called Edwards a "Faggot", red. Edwards didn't make any comment like that, SHE did.

Jason,

I have no idea why I typed Edwards. LOL!

I actually didn't misread anything, I just simply wrote Edwards when I meant Coulter.

I do not like Coulter, who I know to be a massive homophobe. My point was only that I don't like Edwards, either. But the way I typed it made no sense, huh? :-p

A week in politics is a very long time indeed. It is far too early to discount anyone in the respective Republican and democratic races for the presidential nominations.

Politicians only tell you what you want to hear. Anne Coulter tells those who have similar mindsets what they want to hear, and politicians take advantage of it. Like they do with every other group of people who have a certain view of the world.
I don't trust politicians, precisely because they have their own interests at heart, rather than what they get voted in for.
Blair is coming to the end of that cycle, voted in for promises, promises broken, Blair pulls the wool over peoples eyes. People wake up and demand change. The cycle starts all over again. David Cameron is almost exactly the same as Blair. Who really should have joined the Tories instead of Labour. British politics is rather bland these days. There is not much difference between new Labour and the Tories.

Using insults to attack political groups or a politician is about as mature as pushing somebody into a puddle of mud. It is school playground antics for adults in other words.

Perhaps her faggot comment toward Edwards was a bit over the top considering that he isn't a faggot to begin with.

"Homophobe"? So you have evidence that she has an irrational fear of Homosexuals?

Look at the comments directed at her, past present and tomorrow, from the left, and often from prominent leftists, and you will see that liberals can be mean as hell, insulting as hell, and generally over the top insulting conservatives, but when the conservative says something over the top, there is a sonic boom as every leftist pair of panties on earth gets into a twist all at once. What a buch of hypocritical babies.

More of a threat than any liberal ever sould be?

Really? Compare her negative impact to Jimmy Carter. How about any of the other dhimmi liberals. She is worse because she hurts the feelings of gay people?

She can be a lot meaner than her counterparts.

The majority of her views are flawed because they are usually based on the bad liberals making bad choices and tends to gloss over the mistakes republicans have made. The biggest mistake republicans have made is the over spending in the senate. America would be fucked if the banks called in the debts. But that would destroy the world economy so it's unlikely to happen. A recession is more likely at this point in time for America.

She is meaner that James Carville? The guy who said the GOP drug a $100 bill through a trailer park until Paula Jones came out?

Or Clinton floating the idea that Lewinsky was actually a star-struck stalker? That was sweet, try to destroy the girl.

How about all the liberals saying that they really wished that Cheney had been killed in Iraq? How about the liberal activists "outing" gay republicans in order to destroy them, now there is some nasty hypocracy.

No, no one is as nasty as a devout liberal political operative.
